Our Economy is not in a Good Place
The article is an interview first part is discussing our current economic state then the second part is the 1.9 trillion-dollar stimulus check. I will be concentrating on our present economic state. The main dilemma that was talked about was how different this crisis is so different from every other kind of economic crisis to have ever happened because it is apparent what needs to be done for the economy to get back on its feet is to unregulate and make everyone go back to normal but would that be good for only the economy and not the average person such as would everyone get sick and there would be a massive death toll in a few weeks. People cant go to restaurants in as big of numbers as there used to be same with airlines and because of this those companies can't get off the ground. The solution in the people who are interviewing's eyes is you need to change the question from how can we get our economy through this to how can we get the average person through it because the problem isn't no one wants to work or that they can't because the economy won't let them it's because of something that isn't part of the economy that's holding them back, get the people through the pandemic then the economy will greatly benefit.
The crisis we are facing now is not an easy fix not without many people being put at risk for illness. This problem is unique to me it seems we are in the situation (were damned if we do we're damned if we don't) because if we keep going like this our national debt that has been a problem for years will kill us if it's not that everyone will run out of money because so few people are working and many relying on the stimulus checks which are very generous in their amount and their frequency of being handed out that eventually the banks and the government will run out of money to give to the people because they cannot get enough funds from taxes. However, if we do ignore all regulations and go back to normal with restaurants and planes a lot more people may die and even more too sick to work. I believe that a new system needs to be created or at least a new way of attacking this problem. This may be what our generation has to deal with in a few years either long term effects or an even bigger problem that no one sees coming yet. This problem has and will continue to have a lasting effect on our world today. Our generation if we don't find a way around covid might be the last generation who actually knew life.
