Trump's Border Wall

One of President Trump's promises while in office was to build a wall separating The United States from Mexico on our south border. Trump did not start building this wall in time and near the end of his term he sped up the building and in turn is ruining lots of the nature in those areas. The article focuses specifically on the Arizona border with Mexico, an area with lots of different animals. The border wall is actually ruining the nature in those areas because it is causing these animals, that normally would cross the border all the time, to stay on one side or the other. There are 4 inch cracks in between the sections of wall but those are only big enough for the average squirrel and lizard. Another thing that is ruining the wildlife is the constant surveillance lights that are messing up the bats in that area during their nighttime fun. To try and build the wall in time, the contractors have been using dynamite to blow up mountains and cliffs to make room for the wall. This is a problem because a lot of the boulders that are created from the dynamite are well over the size of an SUV and fall anywhere they can. In the Southern Arizona area there are a lot of private ranch's in the valleys, the valleys that are being destroyed to build the wall. Recently, a boulder fell into someone's ranch and the owners are considering suing the contractors that were in charge of the blowing up of the mountain. My thoughts on this are that what they are doing is wrong. Trump promised that he would build this wall but didn't until it caused problems to the wildlife and personal property in the area. They also didn't start until they weren't able to finish so now we have parts of a wall in many parts of Texas and Arizona that will most likely be taken down during Biden's presidential term.
