Voter Survey Analysis - Mateo Sanchez
Voter Survey Analysis
For this analysis, I will be observing the effects of education level on the willingness to accept a government-mandated vaccine. And for the purpose of simplifying this analysis, I am going to merge agree with strongly agree and go through the same process with disagrees. Fist to provide context fifty-six percent of people were in favor of a government-mandated vaccine while thirty percent of people were against it and thirteen percent were either neutral or had no opinion. Interestingly enough it was very even but I do want to clarify that because of the lack of data and my lack of knowledge on how to value degrees this is a little scuffed. My method for identifying education was to essentially a group everyone that hadn't gone to college and give them a score of 1 then give everyone attending college a two then graduates with Associates and Bachelors a three then Masters got a four and Phds received a three. Then categorized the scores into agrees disagrees and neutrals and averaged them. My results were the following: the average score for disagreeing is 3.02, neutral was 2.82 and it was the same for agreeing. There are a number of conclusions that we can draw from this we could try to stipulate that people with more education value their privacy more or maybe that they aren't as worried about the virus. It could really mean a number of things but the difference in and of itself is pretty negligible anyways especially seeing that the margin of error has to be huge on my analysis not to mention the actual survey, it was a small sample size and not properly monitored for trolling.
My opinion on it all is simple, if you get the vaccine then you get to leave your house. What I found surprising was when we discussed this in class I realized that many people had an intense distrust in this administration which surprised me because it seemed a little ridiculous but there are definitely a lot of people that think like that for very understandable reasons, in addition to them there are anti-vaxxers and then libertarians which are all about individual risk and not forcing anything on anyone which honestly I can respect. Also, the question was not especially well written and sounded like you would have to vaccinate everyone no matter what which is not at all what I meant when I wrote it.
