Voting Survey Analysis

For my survey analysis, I will be focusing mainly on the Issues of Racism section. I feel like since it was my group’s given topic I have more understanding in order to analyze it better. The first question is: Do you think President Trump’s response to current protests has been more helpful towards bringing equality to people of color? On a quick first glance, the question was avoided by one person because there were only 124 responses while the other two had 125. Investigating further, the option “Strongly disagree” took up about 65% of the poll while neutral and disagree took up the other part. And there was a tiny red part that signified the “agree” option. This is interesting because as we discussed previously in class that a majority of the survey takers had an affiliation with the Democratic party, as opposed to the Republican party. This is especially interesting because that would mean a lot of Republicans disagree with former President Trump’s approach to the protests. Moving on to the second question: What is your stance on the current Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement? The results for this question were divided into 42% Supporting BLM and the other part would be equal: 30% Not actively supporting BLM and 18% ALM support (The republican resistance against BLM) Similar to the other question it seems that some conservatives are now in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. As for the last question: Is white supremacy a big issue in this country? The answers were all somewhat equal in agreeing and disagreeing. White supremacy has not been much of a controversial topic nowadays with both right and left-wing supporters condemning it. Overall I think this survey was a success. In total, we got 128 responses and even though not all the people completed every question I think that the feedback was accurate. Personally, when I shared the survey to my Instagram story I got more than 1,300 views total over a course of 24 hours. So I’m sure a lot of people were reached over the course of this assignment and we got the necessary information. This was definitely a productive assignment and we all learned something from it.
