Contributions on Sociology
Karl Marx
Karl Max contributed in many things for sociology, but what I personally think about all these contributions the most important thing that he worked and thought throughout his life was the ideology that it is called, conflict theory, which it was basically the organization and social change that are based on the conflicts that arise in society. This idea is very interesting to know because it comes from the texts of a philosopher called Hegel. He developed the concept of dialectics which was based on the idea that everything carries within itself the seeds of its own destruction, but that a new form will emerge from its ashes. Marx took this concept from dialectics and later he decided to apply it to society, claiming that the origins of change are all materialistic, and not based on ideas.
Wright Mills
Wright Mills, was a highly studied person who focused mainly on the social structure and power elites, and on the role and commitment of intellectuals and sociology to society. His most known contribution that he made for sociology was his fundamental work, "The sociological imagination" and is one of the books with the greatest impact in the history of sociology. The principal ideology of Wright Mills that it is described in this book is the "The living awareness of the relationship between experience and society in general." Sociological imagination is actually like the ability to see things socially and also to see how they interact and influence each other. He influenced sociology by this important fact of having this capacity for the own elaboration of a sociological perspective in the world.
