Lego Friends

     Lego friends was definitely a toy targeted towards girls. When I was little, playing with these toys, I had no idea that they were purposefully made to appeal to the little girl's eyes. In the toy set that I had, there were different jobs that each lego friend could do. It was always a pop star, a flight attendant, or a teacher. I never saw a lego set that had a character working as a police officer, a lawyer, or even a pilot. I feel like this was made for little girls to see their career path and their choices. If it was more diverse in career choices that would at least make the game a bit better.

    I never felt pressured to play with these legos. I never had different types of legos, it was always lego friends. I remember when my friends came over we would play with my legos and when I went over to their houses I played with theirs. Something that might have started my time playing legos was looking at other girls' lego collections. They had a whole shelf just for legos. When I saw this I thought that if I had them too I would be cool. No one told me that I wasn't cool because I didn't have this type of lego, the thought just occurred in my mind.

    I feel like I played with these legos like any other girl played with them. Something that I didn't realize was that some of the lego friends were manufactured to be in better positions than others. For example. the blond and blue-eyed lego friend had the big party bus and a big house and the one that looked a bit different had to work a job and had a smaller house. I didn't play like this, I mixed all of the sets and all of the different characters were equal in my head.
