Why do we watch movies multiple times

                You probably have a favorite movie, and whether it changes a lot or stays the same you have most

            likely seen it multiple times. Every year when Christmas comes you probably watch Christmas

            movies. Even though we already know what happens in the movie and how it ends, we still watch

            it again and again. Why is that? 

    One reason could be that picking a new movie is too hard and you can never seem to agree on

one. There are just so many options, first you have to pick where to look, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon

Prime Video, or maybe your DVD collection. Then you have to choose what genre, and finally

the movie you want to watch. It takes so long to pick the one you want that sometimes you just

end up picking one that you've already seen because you know you will like it and it is much

easier to pick.

    Another reason might be that you just really love that movie. Let's say you were having a bad

day, you come home and decide you should watch your favorite movie to cheer yourself up. Or,

maybe you are really worn out, so you decide to reward yourself with a movie that you love.

Because you have already seen the movie, you already know the plot and can watch the movie

without having to think about it, and maybe you will pick up on something you didn’t notice before.

    A third reason is that you know that it will never change. Whether you are 8 or 88, the movie                 will stay the same. Everything around you could be changing, but you will know that the movie is             not going to change. The way you watch it could change, you could’ve watched it at the movie                 theater the first time, watched it from the DVD at your house, or even watched it at the blow up                 movie screen at a park, but the plot is the same, the characters, are the same and the ending is                 always the same.

Arkansas' Anti-trans bill

  Isa Pedersen  Mr. Roddy  IHSS 9 April 2021 Arkansas’ Anti-trans bill  For centuries the trans community was discriminated against. But recently Arkansas passed a bill that highly affects trans rights and healthcare. The bill states that trans individuals are not allowed to get gender affirming surgeries. This included hormones such as testosterone and androgen, as well as puberty blockers. This is said to be one of the most detrimental bills passed against the trans community in ages. Not only this but some states have already passed bills that don't allow trans kids to take part in sports or competitions. These states include Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Tennessee and Alabama are already starting to get the same bill passed. Texas is on the list that is assumed to follow Arkansas and pass the bill as well. Why Do We Keep Pets?

Katie Vojvodic  David Roddy  IHSS A  9/24/20  Why Do We Have Pets?      In millions of households across the United States, a few family members stick out among the furless, bipedal creatures we call humans. Whether it be a furry floof (like a poodle dog or tabby cat), an avian entity (like a parakeet or cockatoo), or a scaly creepy-crawler (like a gecko or bearded dragon), over 65% of Americans own pets. The question is, why? How did keeping domesticated animals in our homes become the norm? Thanks to my extensive research, we might finally have the answer to that pressing question.     According to an article by animalfreedom.org , one of the main reasons that people keep pets is for companionship. Some even go as far as to use the companionship they get from pets in place of a relationship with a partner or family member. It is true that dogs have been proven to be able to detect human emotion and provide comfort, so I am not surprised....
