Why do we play tennis - Sociology

Why do I play tennis? Well, It’s been a central part of my life growing up. My father was a tennis player throughout highschool and his adult life, and he heavily inspired me to start playing myself. Tennis has given me a passion, a sport to care about. When everyone in my middle school was joining a sports team, it’s what I chose. Playing tennis allowed me to have a community of friends to talk to while I practice something I love. Many say there are other benefits to playing tennis, like being smarter, living longer, and problem solving skills. All good things to have, especially along with staying in shape. Other people find connections too, and foster communities through the sport. Overall, it’s just something that brings people together while creating friendships and long-lasting benefits.
